Please consider supporting our Summer Camp 2017!
For the 10th year, Common Ground will invite 36 children from the neighborhood to join us for seven weeks for our free summer day camp. After a healthy lunch (and for some the only meal of the day), the children will engage in hands-on educational and enrichment activities, involving art, science, nutrition, garden time and of course, field trips! Perhaps more importantly, the children will build relationships with our dynamic staff that are often life changing. Summer camp gives our kids a safe place to just be a kid, and escape the chaos that poverty brings to their young lives.
The wonderful lady who funded this life-changing summer camp for years passed away, and if we do not secure funding, we will not be able to offer this to the community. We need your help to help make this happen! If we have sufficient funding, we will expand our camp to accommodate the children who have aged out our current program. We already have strong relationships with many of these teenagers, and we need to add staff and create additional programming to engage them now that they are older, while instilling life and social skills.
Please consider helping make a difference in the lives of our children!
